We have a specialist purpose-built workshop, designed and constructed by our own team of people we support, staff and volunteers. The workshop houses quality industrial machining tools, power tools and traditional woodworking hand tools.
Our workshop provides a real opportunity for people to create tangible work, helping build confidence and knowledge in machining and handcrafting wood. Teaching follows every individual’s own pace and everyone is given as much or as little help as they need.
Projects on site range from building planters and machining wood for our craft room to projects to creating larger scale projects such as making and repairing our sensory garden and building entire new buildings on our premises.
Our own staff comprise of time served tradespeople and volunteers, who have many years of experience working in industry. We then have general maintenance staff who assist our tradespeople with maintaining the farm, projects for sale and supervising the people we support.
Safety is the highest priority, and the machinery is locked off when not in use. Everyone is trained, supervised, and given work according to their own competency. Training is continuous and our tradespeople, staff and volunteers constantly assess the abilities of everyone we support to ensure that they remain safe.
