Dale Farm’s 40th Anniversary Celebrations
We cannot believe that Dale Farm has been in permanent operation for 40 years. There have been many changes at the farm over the years, but the care and dedication of staff and volunteers has always remained at the heart of everything that we do. We always endeavour to continually improve what we do and give the best support we can to all our service users.
The people we support and staff decided that we should celebrate this milestone by getting together with volunteers, family and friends and sharing memories of all the years that we have spent together. It seemed fitting to celebrate in the farm’s traditional manner of having a BBQ, followed by lots of lovely cake and relaxation.
We created a slide show to show how the farm has changed over the years. The presentation was displayed in the dining area for everyone to watch. The presentation shows some of the physical changes to the farm over the years, including a new sensory garden, more growing areas, management, replacement buildings etc.
Some of the people we support have been here for many years.
Martin has been at the farm since the very early stages. He has seen many changes to the farm, made lots of friends and continues to enjoy working here. Martin is a sincere, warm, and kind individual, who cares for all those around him. Martin shows genuine interest and concern for other people, their friends, family, and always makes time to ask how you are.
We would like to recognise all the time and effort volunteers have given, along with the support of the local community and local businesses who continue to buy our produce or donate time/money.
On the day, there was a great turnout, where friends old and new came together to remember all the times we have spent together. Here are a few photos from the past couple of years that give a small insight into our work, events, education and fundraising we have done.
Perhaps one of our greatest achievements is the care we all show for each other and the creation of such a happy community in this small part of Heswall.
