Gone with the Wind

Storm Floris played havoc with our bean crop. We arrived at the farm after the storm to find that some of our bean supports and plants had been flattened to the floor.

We had to salvage as many beans as possible, leaving us with overflowing buckets of beans.

The people we support, volunteers and staff tried to salvage as many plants and supports that they could.

Floris, the name given to the storm is derived from the Latin word flor, which translates to flower or blossom. As a given name, Floris retains its floral connotation. It symbolizes not only the literal meaning of flowers but also metaphorical aspects of flourishing and development. In our opinion it seems very strange to name a storm Floris, as storms are typically associated with damage and destruction.

If you need any beans, you know where to come.
